I knew about EOYDC by volunteering for volunteering for the summer as an internship student from Lionel Wilson College Prep Academy. I helped all the youth leader with anything they needed. I even learned how to work with the receptionist answering the phones and answering parent’s questions as they came to the front office.

I started working at the EOYDC in the fall as a Homework Center Tutor for the kids that needed help on anything that is about school. My experience here at EOYDC has been great and I have learned a lot of great things that I can use in the future. Working here has really been good for me because I have learned how to answer the phone in a mature manner so that parents will know what I am saying, and I also have learned how to use the fax aci8ne. the main things that I do in the Homework Center is help kids with homework, or sometimes if they don’t have homework, I play a fun game with the. Even while we’re playing they are learning lessons about team work, sharing, and how to apologize when they’re wrong.

I have learned how to be responsible, mature, and respectful with my co-workers. I’ve also learned and believe it is not only my job to help the kids with their homework, but to get to know them. I learn just as much from them as they learn from me.

Since I’ve been here in the summer, I have really enjoyed myself because I have learned more new things tht I can share with others. By working here I have learned that I can reach my goals and that I can do what I have in mind, which is to go to college. EOYDC has done a lot for me and has been a great place to work and communicate with people. The EOYDC is a great place to learn and grow up with kids and leaders, and  I am happy that I’m able to be apart of this family and the solution.
